The first song, "The Day After Everything Changed" was co-written with Kristian Bush of Grammy award winning Sugarland. And is a moody rock anthem with soaring vocals, arena sized drums, and electrics guitars. It's a song about the onslaught of major change in a persons life.
The second song "The Lights of Vegas" is a dark, rocking brooding big electric anthem about the vices of sin city, and was also written with Kristian Bush.
The third song, "Heaven's Wherever You Are" is a lighter piano fare, brighter, more pop, hooky, an up tempo song about convincing someone how lucky and beautiful their life is.
Ellis is one of our country's most successful touring acoustic acts, with shows world wide spanning twenty years of appearances from the stages of the Newport Folk Festival to Carnegie Hall. USA Today has called him "A Best Bet for Stardom", the Boston Globe says, "No emerging songwriter has been more highly touted than Ellis Paul," and Dirty Linen says he is "One of folk music's most influential songwriters..."
"A singer songwriter is only as good as the times he reflects. In times like these, when so many nuts are running the show, it's comforting to know that Ellis Paul is actually holding our sanity on his own stage! Wise, tender, brilliant and biting, Ellis is one of our best human compasses, marking in melodies and poems where we've been and where we might go if we so choose to. Personally Ellis, I'm goin' where you're goin'!" --Nora Guthrie (Woody Guthrie's daughter)
