New Vacation Trip!

New Vacation Trip

Hi Everyone—

Some of you know I’ve been leading vacations trips and cruises... and this summer is no different!

From June 2-8, Roots on the Rails has asked me to host a vacation trip for a group of travelers to Monhegan Island, a beautiful artist colony and fishing village about ten miles off the coast of Maine. The group of adventurers will stay at an historic inn on the island, with days spent hiking, looking at the incredible scenery and wildlife with nights filled with concerts at the inn by my musician friends Abbie Gardner (of Red Molly), Seth Glier and me!

The island was made famous as a destination point for artists like Edward Hopper and the Wyeth Family. It has a beautiful lighthouse, a shipwreck, easy trails along the bluffs and some beautiful places to sit and raise a craft beer, a glass of wine and have an incredible meal. I did this trip last year— we performed for the locals at the old church on the island and also stopped by the one room school house and performed at the kids’ graduation. The group of travelers became enmeshed into the village and we were welcomed by them personally and thoughtfully and it was a magic experience for all of us.

This is a secret bucket list destination point...everyone from Maine knows its legendary beaut, but few outsiders have taken the boat ride out to the island. It’s impact will stay with you for months afterwards. We will be book-ending the week with shows on the mainland at the Boothbay Opera House in Boothbay and at One Longfellow Square in Portland.

Bring your camera, your paints, your love of natural beauty and music and join us!

Roots on the Rocks

The food will be great, the vistas breathtaking and the music you can trust to soothe!

This is the last month of the fundraising campaign for The Storyteller’s Suitcase! It’s been an incredible year for me putting this project together. Thank you if you have contributed already. I honestly don’t think the CD format will be here much longer, which will change how I release music. Because of this, the initial version of the album will be a deluxe 34-page booklet of photos, song lyrics, and the back stories of each song. The fundraiser has levels from a digital download to life time passes to shows, house concerts, songs written for you or business and family, hand written lyrics, posters, T-shirts and a tiny little Storyteller’s Suitcase all your own. We’ve still got promotional funding for the album left to be raised; radio, press, and internet. Please join in this effort to bring this music to public.

I’ve included a private link here to see the first video:  I Ain't No Jesus

We are trying to keep a low profile before the release of the album by filling the calendar with private house concerts and school shows. Let us know if you want to create an event or bring me into your school for a show of songs from The Hero in You  If interested, please contact Tim Drake at

See my tour dates page for the scoop on shows this weekend in New Jersey, NYC, Maryland and Colorado!  Looking ahead in March I'll be taveling to Kansas, Missouri and Texas!  Click below for details!

Thanks again for the love and support! I expect the album will be in my hands within the month and go out to donors sometime in April!

Best to you!
