Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays

Posters! Posters!

Hello my my friends—

Did you know that “White Christmas” was rated as the second most important song of the 20th century by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Radio Industry Academy of America? It was chosen based on it’s cultural impact. (#1 was “Over the Rainbow”) “White Christmas” was written by Irving Berlin in 1939. By 1942 over 600,000 American soldiers were serving overseas in WW II and the longing to be with family over the holidays helped generate the country-wide sentimentality that lead to the tune’s success. It became the greatest selling song of all time.

The song won an Academy Award for best song and topped the charts at Christmas in 1941, ‘42, and ‘43. Legend has it that Irving wrote it while looking out his windows at the green of the palm trees in La Quinta, CA. He called his secretary and said:
"I want you to take down a song I wrote over the weekend. Not only is it the best song I ever wrote, it's the best song anybody ever wrote!”

I will be dropping a new holiday song myself this month exclusively at Patreon. If you're not already a Patreon member, please condiering joining today at:
