THE NOVEL, THE BEATLES, AND THE NEVER ENDING FLOW OF CREATIVITY

My novel!
Hi yous guys—
FIRST, THE NOVEL
I’m working on a book. I won’t say my “first novel”, though it is, because that implies there may be a second, or third. Let’s just do this for now. ?
It’s called “The Last Song Mankind Wrote”. It’s science fiction. It will be a multi-media extravaganza, with illustrations, recordings, plot, characters, and suspense.
It means I am authoring, drawing, writing and recording songs for this behemoth of an art project!
Here’s the elevator pitch, it’s best read with the tone of an over zealous movie announcer:
“When the world goes silent, one man dares to broadcast. The Last Song Mankind Wrote — Is the story of a man searching across a post-apocalyptic landscape for his missing wife and daughter. With a ham radio and his own ingenuity to survive, he sends messages of music and hope that help a broken planet come back and fight.”
Grab the popcorn.
I am releasing the chapters as a work in progress on my Patreon page. The first chapter will be available on October 15th to everyone. Free. You can read it there, but the rest of the chapters are for paying subscibers, it’s cheap... $3 a month.
AND… you get plenty of other cool stuff like new songs and livestreams when you join as well!

Here's an excerpt from the very beginning:
It was late afternoon. He stopped on the trail, tilting the water bottle until the last drop emptied into his mouth. Then he looked out from the mountain. Down the slope and across the horizon, the valley was awash in red and gold. It was October. He’d lost track of the exact date.
Christ.
He was only half certain of the year.
2043? 2042? Did it even matter? The trees know what month it is. Their leaves can’t keep a secret.
He’d been following the trail that threaded up through the forest onto the ridge line. He zigzagged at first, to lessen the burden of the climb, but now he felt he had traversed the length of the mountain twice over. He was following a deer trail. Or bear.
The rain from the night before had thrown leaves on the path that clung to the soles of his boots. A four hour climb had turned to six. He was losing the sunlight. Losing the hours.
There’s no way of stopping this galloping run of a day. If I could only lasso the hours, the moon, the sun, I’d hold them still, until they turned to stone. Then I’d carve them into calendars. Like the Aztecs. Raise them like the pillars of Stonehenge. Like the Druids. Learn their secrets. Steal their whispers. And then, maybe, this world would make some kind of goddamn sense.
He avoided the roads now. The checkpoints. Climbing the mountain would give him a perfect vantage point to see if any detention camps were near. There was no risk of strangers this high. Starving people don’t climb mountains. Unless there’s a reason to give chase. He was careful not to expose himself out in the open along the ridge. The sun could reflect on the metal from his backpack, and give him away. There were menacing things below.
Well.
I hope you enjoyed that.
Lots of other things are happening!
