USA Today's Review of "Me, Myelf & Irene" soundtrack

Me, Myself & Irene (***) Laid-back swingers and fans of graceful guitar pop will dig this soundtrack to the Jim Carrey/Renee Zellweger movie, which mixes original material from Foo Fighters (Breakout), Third Eye Blind (Deep Inside of You), The Offspring (Total immortal) and others with Steely Dan covers by an eclectic assortment of modern-rock darlings. Highlights include Wilco's rootsy version of Any Major Dude Will Tell You, Ivy's elegant reading of Only a Fool Would Say That and the Brian Setzer Orchestra's crackling Bodhisattva. Among the new songs, the standout is The World Ain't Slowin' Down, a shimmering ballad from New England cult rocker Ellis Paul, a favorite of the movie's directors, brothers Bobby and Peter Farrelly, and a talent to check out. -- Elysa Gardner
