The Bed Song

The Bed Song

I live in a house in a cul-de-sac
With my Momma and my Daddy
and my wiffle ball bat
and sometimes in the morning
I'm as sleepy as a cat
and I just don't want to get out of my bed

So Daddy hit and hammered
and he put on four wheels
he build my bed an engine
made of pistons, made of steel
I drove it through the neighborhood
the neighbors all squealed
But I just don't want to get out of my bed

[chorus]
You see my bed has got four wheels
It's got an engine like an automobile
and I don't care what the neighbor said,
I just don't want to get out of my bed

So, I'm laughing as I'm rolling to the swimming pool
I drive it in the water and the water's feeling cool
The lifeguard blew his whistle till the whistling made him drool
But I just don't want to get out of my bed

[repeat chorus]

In my jammies at the circus,
with my pillow at school
I'm sitting in my bed
My teddy bear is too
My teachers say I'm crazy
I'm stubborn as a mule
'Cause I just don't want to get out of my bed!

[repeat chorus]
