E-bay Auction:Ellis Paul's Original 2012 WoodyFest Artwork

Postby KarenZ » Fri Jul 06, 2012 3:16 pm

Ellis Paul has generously donated the artwork he created for the 15th Annual Woody Guthrie Folk Festival - celebrating Woody Guthrie's 100th birthday - to be auctioned on e-Bay as a fundraiser for the Woody Guthrie Coalition, Inc.

The color pencil/pen and ink artwork - which has been framed for this auction – measures 18” x 24” before framing. The frame is brown with a black inside edge. The mat is brown and burgundy. A Certificate of Authenticity signed by Ellis Paul will be provided to the highest bidder.

The auction will end at 8pm Central time on Saturday, July 14 - just before Ellis' performance at the festival. At the conclusion of Ellis' set later that evening, the name of the person with the highest bid will be announced and, if in attendance, Ellis will present the artwork to him/her.

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.
